HOPE COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
HOPE is a completely volunteer-run organization serving the LGBTTTIQQAA population in all of Halton's communities.
We are always looking to expand our opportunities to serve our community, and we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering on one of the following committees, or in another capacity, please email us: info@haltonpride.org
Social Committee
Have great ideas for new social events? Think you could contribute an extra special touch to make HOPE events even better? Then maybe you belong on our Social Committee!
Two of HOPE's biggest and best annual events are fast approaching: the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAH, May 17th) and Halton Pride (June 4th)! Be a part of these exciting events from the beginning to help shape the final product. The Committee will continue throughout the year, as well, to develop new opportunities to build and strengthen our community, through dances, Queeraoke, and other social celebrations!
Youth Committee
Are you between 14 and 24 years old and a member of the LGBTTTIQQAA Halton community? Do you have ideas for ways HOPE can involve and engage our Youth community? YOUth are the Future of Halton, of HOPE and of the world. Make your voice heard!
Youth members of HOPE are an important part of our organization and community. The goal of the youth committee is to plan, organize and run HOPE events for youth, by youth. To accomplish this goal, we are looking for a group of youth ages 14-24, who are dedicated and eager to have their voices heard. We look forward to working with you to make a difference within your community!
Funding Committee
While we wish HOPE were independently wealthy, and money was never an issue, it's simply not true. HOPE depends on donations and funding to operate.
The search for, and application to funding opportunities (through government agencies or other non-profit agencies) requires specific, directed energy; however, the successful awarding of these grants to HOPE is direly necessary for the organization. The Funding Committee will identify and apply for relevant grants.
This committee will also be the facilitating entity for overall fundraising for HOPE. Decisions will be made regarding feasible fundraising efforts and action will be taken towards these initiatives.
The Funding Committee will work together to identify funding and fundraising opportunities within and outside of our community that will enable HOPE to continue our Pride & Education work. The Funding Committee will be an integral component of the future of HOPE and what the organization can offer to the community.
